![]() My Time At Sandrock Chill crafting/social game similar to Stardew Valley, and a sequel to My Time At Portia. The show floor demo was unstable due to internet issues, but there's a solid foundation as a game, and this one will be going on my watchlist for future development. I did get a bunch of random upgrades over time that eventually turned my guns into silly but devastating weapons, where the shots would pierce enemies, ricochet off walls, and do more damage the longer they stayed airborne. Top-down dungeon crawler, there were three classes with different specialties, I played the guy with the shotgun and dual-pistols. Mythic Protocol Described by the devs as "if Diablo had guns." I didn't notice any looting going on but the feel was there in terms of shooting my way through lots of enemy hordes. I got up to level 50, so I can say now that either there's not much to do, or the point where the game opens up and lets me do more is far enough ahead that it requires an inexcusable amount of grinding to reach. I downloaded it onto my phone, tried it for a couple days, but it just isn't doing it for me. Orna This is a mobile title that applies the Pokemon Go-like geolocation/AR overlay into a stock RPG. Controls are very tight and the pace is lightning fast, had a blast and I just kept going back for more during all four days. Different characters with different stats and special moves for throwing the disc past the other player and into the goal. It's a sports title that kinda plays like if Pong were cranked up to eleven and crossed with a fighting game. ![]() Shot One Full disclosure, been following this game for awhile so I'm biased, but this is the first time I've actually gotten my hands on it. We will be releasing a demo online during our Kickstarter, so I hope you give the demo a chance to prove we're not a mere reskin. But so many people came back to play multiple times and say the most heartwarming things. I was nervous to show it since we're still so early in development, and I know how incomplete the world is and how climbing and the camera is a little janky sometimes. The reception at PAX East has been incredible, with so many people saying our booth was their favorite. The pixelized "Nostalgia Mode" is an option in the settings like lil gator game it's not the default. We're expanding the mechanics while providing a unique story, world, and characters based on our experiences in life. Since you can spin the camera it completely changes the types of gameplay that can be done. The game is evolving rapidly - we only started working on it in December and didn't believe we could get this far. We want to make an adorable, non-violent game with good values and fun mechanics that donates to animal shelters. ![]() Along the way, he teaches people to love unconditionally like a dog and enjoy the little things in life. He uses ancient corgi technology, like the magic cape that lets him glide. The corgi is the underdog and wants to prove that he isn't too stubby to climb the mountain. I'm just a lover of A Short Hike and want more things like it with some old-school 3D platforming like Banjo/Spyro. If anyone else attended and wanted to shout out some games and impressions, do so here. So between that and the Guilty Gear tournament, the cops may not even allow PAX back next year, because those are some egregious crimes. We also attended a panel about how the Gamecube was the best console ever, and the panel assembled an "essential" list of 15 games that included Kirby Air Ride but not F-Zero GX. ![]() Plus I competed in perhaps the worst Guilty Gear Strive tournament here at PAX, which was single elimination, first to 1, on consoles with none of the DLC characters unlocked (and I'm a Goldlewis main). Maybe more exhibitors will fill out the hall in the future, like the old days, but now it's a bit sparse with Microsoft, Sony, TinyBuild, AnnaPurna, and others pulling out. PAX East has been on a decline since the live service era, in my opinion, and it only accelerated in the COVID era, so after attending more than 10 of these, this might be the last one I go to for a while. So if I had to pick the highlights of the show, they'd be Trail Out, Big Boy Boxing, and Backpack Hero, but again, a lot of that is influenced by what I've seen or haven't seen before. I found it to be easy to lose track of where the ball teleports to when it switches between boards, but it's definitely more fun than your Windows XP Space Cadet pinball. Apparently the sequel to a game called Demon's Tilt, this is a game billing itself as a pinball game crossed with a bullet hell, but in practice, it's mostly just pinball.
